Tom Riddle X Reader V2: Part8: Meet Tom

Molly, Lily and Mary all sat down on the cloth, reaching for various foods and drinks. The rabbit silently laid on Lily’s lap as you slowly sat down with the snake on your body.

Sneakily you took glances at Tom to see if he had moved but he hasn’t. You knew he wouldn’t stay there forever and so you had to think of the plan asap.

You hated to do this but you had to. Secretly, you held your wand without anyone noticing you casted the spell on the little bunny. You turned it into a prey as its fear attracted the deadly creature. The spell made the rabbit run like a madman, it hopped off Lily’s lap which startled everyone, including the snake. And so, you put your bunny at risk as you did not even attempt to stop the snake that stormed off your body and chased after the rabbit. Lily and the other girls got up, incredibly stressed.

“I’ll take care of it” – you quickly get up and chase after the snake that was chasing the white rabbit.

And just like planned, the white pile of fluff hopped its way onto your desired location – Tom’s lap. It startled Tom as it jumped on his book and spun around his lap, making himself comfortable. Tom looked amazed and very confused at the scenario. Only seconds after, he noticed the black snake approach him. Tom picked up the bunny from his lap and placed it on his shoulder, away from the incoming snake.

Only seconds later you showed up, stopping the snake who had caused some shrieks from the girls who’ve been observing Riddle.

You kneeled next to him, grabbing the snake and then placing it around your shoulders. You glanced at the amazed Tom.

“Sorry, my little guy has been startled by the snake” – you gently smile at Tom, reaching out for the white bunny

But still charmed, the rabbit deflected your hands and sprinted towards Tom’s face, causing him to take the bunny and hold it in his hands.

“Maybe you should take care of your pets a little more then” – Tom replied, gently stroking the fur of the rabbit. Then he looked down at your emblem then your face “I don’t know what I’m more amazed about. That there Is someone cheeky enough to have a forbidden pet on the premises or that there is a Gryffindor interested in snakes”

“Like a little snake is going to do much harm” – you smile at him

“Never doubt the abilities of a snake” – he replied, grinning

“I never have, that’s why I got one”

“May I?” – Tom pointed at the snake who’d slithered around your shoulders. You nod and exchange animals, he gave you the white rabbit back and gently took off the black snake off your shoulders. “Fascinating animals they are” – he spoke while holding the tip of its head towards him “A Mangrove you chose? They’re only mildly venomous, not as dangerous for my liking” – he then wrapped its tail around his hands “Still. Good choice” – he then proceeds to play with and even taunt the snake, showing off his lack of fear, then he finally looks at you “What makes you think I won’t tell?”

“Would you want to be a snitch?” – you frown at Tom in question.

“As long as it benefits me.”

At that point it was clear that he wanted something in return

“What would you need for your silence then?” – you question him

“I’d assume half of the school already has seen it. Besides. I don’t see how it would benefit me on either end, so…” – he stretched out the snake, giving it back to you.

You carefully take the snake and wrap it back around your shoulders, making sure it’s away from the rabbit.

“It’s hungry” – Tom says with a grin on his face “Why don’t you feed that little bargain of yours to him?”

“You mean the rabbit?”

Tom nods.

“I’ll just keep the bargain then” – you answer him

“Alright.” – he then grabs his book back, after a few seconds of him reading a couple words he noticed you hadn’t left “Do you mind?”

You understood that he wanted you to leave and so you did. You got back to your group and handed the bunny to the worried Lily. You sat down next with the same snake on your body.

“Now I know why you got the snake” – sitting across, Molly smirked

Lily frowned at the sentence “That’s not funny. These pets are not a toy.”

“Relax, I was just joking” – Molly stated.

It wasn’t much but that day you had finally grabbed his attention. At least he spoke to you unlike with some other girls. To you it meant something. It was baby steps. He had to get to know you first and then boom. You’d make him chug the potion that Albus handed you in order to change Tom. In order to change him from being a non-affectionate child due to him being a love potion child, to him finally giving the ability to feel what a normal person feels. It should soften him up, make him vulnerable.
